The easy introduction of the bag into the structure and the dust-free emptying make this machine an essential device for receiving raw materials in large formats.
The simplicity of these devices allows for different adaptations based on the type of big bag used (big bag emptying and cutting systems), based on the characteristics of the product (bag spout connection or handling gloves for hazardous material containment), as well as on the production process and timing available (loading with forklift, with hoist or automatic loading).

TYPES OF SYSTEM
Two types of systems: big bag emptying and cutting
• Big bag emptying
Big bag discharging systems are used in situations where the product is contained in big bags with a discharge valve. This mode allows the recovery of the big bag once it has been emptied.
The hopper of the big bag discharging system features an inspection hatch equipped with a safety interlock, allowing the operator to easily release the spout for easier material discharge. In order to facilitate the descent of the material, massagers can be provided to avoid possible product build-up in corners or side pushers.
Big bag emptying systems can have different configurations:
- Hoist: instead of traditional forklift loading, electric hoist loading is adopted. This mode favours the unloading of material by vertical hoist movements and reduces the use of forklifts.
- Bag spout connection: the bag spout connection is a manual or pneumatic tube-in-tube system, which allows for the total confinement of powders during big bags unloading the big bag spout is hooked onto the inner tube, while an upper plate holds it in place
• Big bag cutting
Big bag discharging systems are used in situations where the product is contained inside big bags with closed bottoms and intended for disposal once opened.
The available configurations may vary depending on the type of product contained and its physical characteristics. For free-flowing products, a simple piercing point can be used; however, for cohesive materials prone to bridging inside the big bag, a specific blade set is required to ensure wider opening of the bag base, promoting its rapid discharging.
Big bag cuttings can be:
- Semiautomatic: these require the operator’s involvement in the operations of hooking the big bag to the cross lifting beam and its subsequent removal. These are suitable for capacities between 10 and 15 big bags per hour (up to 30 m³/h)
- Automatic: big bag loading, emptying and disposal take place according to predetermined sequences and in a fully automated manner, thus guaranteeing high project capacities and relieving operators of time-consuming, hazardous and low value-added activities. These automatic systems guarantee capacities of up to 25 big bags per hour (up to 50 m³/h)
